FMS offers fields that focus on maritime and nautical science and have the potential to offer quality academic programs at both First and Postgraduate levels based on the field of ‘Marine and Aquatic Sciences’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG); Ensuring quality education, inmusif and fair and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all (SDG 4) and safeguarding and conserving the beaches and marine resources for sustainable development (Life on the Sea) (SDG 14).

Faculty of Ocean Engineering Technology and Informatics

FTKKI provide academic programmes that meet the needs of the industry, thus producing holistic, skilled, innovative and highly competitive graduates in the job market. The FTKKI also conducts research in the field of engineering technology that supports the nation’s knowledge and economic development and serves as a reference point in addressing current issues and implementing a knowledge transfer programmes for universal sustainability.

FBESD offers a wide range of competitive undergraduates and postgraduates programs and all courses offered are designed and frequently revised to ensure their relevance to the real business world and the changing global economy.

Faculty of Fisheries and Food Sciences

The Faculty of Marine Science and Environment (FSSM) was established on 1 August 2019 as a result of the merger of two Schools, namely the School of Marine and Environmental Science and the School of Basic Science. The establishment of this faculty is through a gathering of academics in the fields of marine science, chemical science and biological science at various levels under one organization that has the strength and potential to drive the development and excellence of knowledge in the field.

IBTPL UMT focus on the commitment of the state government to make Kenyir the top “nature tourism destination” in the region as a model of a rural development area from the perspective of environmental sustainability and social well-being.

Institute of Marine Biotechnology

IMB’s establishment is in line with the country’s effort to develop biotechnology as one of the core sectors to generate economic growth and enhance societal well-being in accordance to the National Biotechnology Policy.

Institute of tropical aquaculture and fisheries research

AKUATROP is one of the 21 centers of aquaculture excellence in the world. The establishment of AKUATROP is to assist the government and the aquaculture industries to boost their production. AKUATROP will play an important role in human resources development and R&D&C (Research, Development and Commercialization) in aquaculture.

FMS menawarkan bidang yang memberi tumpuan kepada sains maritim dan bahari dan berpotensi untuk menawarkan program akademik yang berkualiti di peringkat Pertama dan Pascasiswazah berdasarkan bidang Matlamat Pembangunan Lestari (MPL) ‘Sains Laut dan Akuatik; Memastikan pendidikan berkualiti, inmusif dan adil serta mempromosikan peluang pembelajaran sepanjang hayat untuk semua (MPL 4) dan melindungi dan memulihara pantai dan sumber laut untuk pembangunan lestari (Kehidupan di atas Laut) (MPL 14).
