The MBA programme at UMT is designed to train executive to think stategically and logically as well as able to present independent, lateral and sound thoughts. The programme also provides an opportunity to concentrate in any of following area of  management : Strategic Management, Marketing, Finance, Maritime Logistics & Transport ; and Logistics & Supply Chain. The 2-year MBA programme at UMT comprises an intensive series of stimulating lectures, energetic seminars, and conducive small group meetings and team projects.
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at UMT is designed for students who wish to expand their knowledge and skills in the respective areas. Enrollments include practitioners from various industries and levels, which allow students to engage in critical discussions in the classroom.

More importantly for an industry-relevant degree such as MBA, several of PPPPM lecturers have professional and industry experiences in the fields of accounting, business, finance and, and logistics, which further enhances the quality of our MBA via teaching and research.

MBA Electives Courses By completing the core courses, students are required to select one of the following four specialized elective courses:

  • Strategic Management,
  • Finance,
  • Marketing, or
  • Maritime Logistics and Transport/Logistic and Supply Chain

Students can also enroll in a Project Paper (MGM 6999) elective course to do research in the related specializations above. For potential research supervisors, see our list of experts. The Project Paper course is especially beneficial not only for those who wish to pursue their PhDs, but also, to equip graduates with crucial knowledge of research in the relevant fields.

Programme Duration

There are two modes of study for UMT MBA (full-time or part-time), and the duration required to complete the programme depends on these modes:

  • Minimum of four semesters (16 months) for full-time*, or six semesters (24 months) for part-time or;
  • Maximum of eight semesters (32 months) for full-time, or 12 semesters (48 months) for part-time.
    • Part Time: for less than nine (9) credits in a semester/module with a minimum of three (3) credits or one course (whichever is applicable).
    • Full Time: Registered for at least nine (9) credits in a semester/module. The maximum credit load is 15. Applicants who are sponsored must register as full time students
